
5S - Sort, Stabilize, Shine, Standardize and Sustain

This is a 2-day programme, which emphasizes on learning through experiential activities. The programme is specially design to foster essential skills in promoting effective professional housekeeping in the millenium through 5 “S” Concept/method.
Participants will be given the opportunity to better understand the important role of good housekeeping, cleaning, social skills, safety practices and creating first impressions.What we call The 5 “S” refer to Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Seiketsu, and Shitsuke.
INTRODUCTION
At the end of the programme, participant will be able to :-
Develop a sense of pride and commitment towards their work, department and organization through the 5 “S”.
Understand and comprehend the department’s SOP and perform with greater competence and discipline, thus reducing wastage.
Enable participants, to communicate and enhance their interpersonal relationship with guest, supervisors and management after understanding and implementing 5 “S”.
OBJECTIVE
5 ‘S’ and their meaning.
Sort – Distinguish between what is needed and not needed and to remove the latter.
Stabilize – Enforce a place for everything and everything in its place.
Shine – Clean up the workplace and look for ways to keep it clean.
Standardize – Maintain and monitor adherence to the first three Ss.
Sustain – Follow the rules to keep the workplace 6 “S” -right—”maintain the gain.”.
Safety – Eliminate hazards.
